Position Overview: The Sr. Director of Food and Nutrition will oversee the strategic and operational aspects of the Food and Nutrition Services Department within a premier hospital setting. This role involves managing a dedicated team, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of food safety and quality, and developing programs that enhance patient health and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition and food service management, coupled with exceptional leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Food and Nutrition Services Department, including hiring, training, and supervising staff.
- Develop and implement comprehensive nutrition programs that meet the diverse needs of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to create and deliver specialized nutrition plans for patients.
- Oversee budget and financial planning for the department.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in nutrition science to continually enhance our offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in food service management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary needs, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and financial plans.
