Position: Sr. Communications Manager
Location: Springfield, VA
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study or equivalent experience preferred. Plus 3-5 years of Project Lead Experience.
Clearance: Must be a US Citizen. DoD Secret Clearance is required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Excellent writer, copy editor
- Team player, but also able to work on projects with little to no supervision
- Excellent communications skills and relationship building (both internally, with clients, and across other offices, divisions, etc.)
- Good knowledge of, and eye for website, user experience best practices

Responsibilities:
- Compose, write, and edit Annual Report, presentations, emails, newsletters, etc.
- Fulfill divisional and Front Office requests for communication products, special projects, and event production and coordination as needed.
- Assist Employee Engagement Specialist (EES) with AA Leadership Messages (discussing potential topics on Wed or Thurs am, often writing first draft, reformatting edited version from EES and PA)
- Identify, research, write, and compile material to include in bi-weekly newsletter for all I&A employees (Workforce Wednesday). This also includes outreach to various divisions/groups and employee councils.
- Update Engagement project tracker
- Write/edit/send email broadcasts to workforce
- Oversee Employee Highlight initiative: engage Employee Advisory Council to secure featured employee, collect employee information, edit, and publish it on SharePoint every six weeks
- Help with employee council projects and initiatives (planning events, producing newsletters, etc.)
- Serve as an I&A Public Affairs liaison (pitching articles, writing articles, coordinating photos, quotes)
- Assists with the management of the I&A Quarterly Awards program including planning and execution of quarterly award ceremonies
- Works with/assists SharePoint team to improve I&A sites
- Help Sr. Comms Manager/PM plan and execute employee engagement events, celebratory month panels (Women’s History Month, National Disability Awareness Month, etc.)
- Develop, edit, and update SOP documents for various communications items.
Additionally, as Team Lead:
- Produce weekly/bi-Weekly Report for COR, fed leads, etc.
- Coordinate and approve time off requests and schedule adjustments
- Log/collect contract deliverables
- Assist/remind employees about variety of TSA or I&A items such as PIV card renewals, parking policies, etc.
- Set up employee check in meetings to fit needs of PM and employee (once a week, bi-weekly, once a month, unnecessary, etc.)
- Host weekly ESVP DSPEC contractor team meeting
- Conduct Annual Reviews
- Maintain information flow with contractor COR and other federal leads/employees
- Provide COR with a variety of contract/employee information upon request
- Collect work product examples, kudos, etc.
