Job Description:
The Geotechnical Estimator will play a key role in preparing cost estimates for geotechnical projects. This position requires a thorough understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, construction practices, and project management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in estimating costs for geotechnical investigations and construction.
Responsibilities:
- Development and pricing of new projects and opportunities Liaising with existing and new clients Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
- Download, extract and review project documents for estimation Identify and locate items pertaining to our Scope of Work Identify and locate
Requirements:
- Critical requirements such as MBE, Payment procedures, Project specific requirements, etc.
- Organise and extract the appropriate document Extract specs and drawings specifically related to our SOW Understand requirements based on governing agency requirements, NYC DOB, PANYNJ MTA etc.
- Prepare proposal and cost estimate on above requirements and estimated quantities Create notes and sketches showing how costs were calculated for PM/supervisor review Reach out to vendors on equipment we may need and staying up to date on new technology related to our services.
- Requirements Strong numerical and technical skills Skilled in using modern technology / IT packages (particularly Excel) Beneficial Experience in Geotechnical / Monitoring / Environmental Sectors Experience in pricing bids / tenders familiarity with bid submission sites like building connected, procore, etc.
