Principal Application Engineer
About the role :
We are a company at the forefront of smart power conversation, where we are a champion of power switching/ bi-directional power switching device technology. Our products are in effect across a number of sectors, where we are continuing to identify effective energy control solutions across renewable energy, energy storage, AI data centre, EV functions/ EV charging, as well as industrial applications.
Our products (power semiconductors) will reduce conduction and switching losses, complexity of thermal management and operating cost in medium voltage AC power switching and control circuitry.
The Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical application, pre sales and post sales technical support for application level topics and further power SoC product roadblocks.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve technical and application issues related to the products.
- Create and publish application notes that may be product-specific, application-specific, or general information for EV, EV Charging, Renewable Energy, UPS, solid-state circuit breakers, and AC drives.
- Provide detailed application-based support to both Sales and Customers.
- Collaborate closely with Customers to troubleshoot and resolve any product application issues.
- Gather customer requirements for future products and contribute to the development roadmap and R&D activities.
- Support product management and product launch.
- Evaluate, characterize, and compare products in a lab setting (a deep understanding of static and dynamic characterization techniques under inductive and resistive loading is a plus).
Criteria:
• BS in an EE field.
• Detail oriented and can follow through to closure on assignments or customer issues .
• 3 - 5 years’ experience working with different topologies within power analog circuits (motor control, power supply, inverter, EV, and/or power semiconductor devices)
• Deep understanding of electric vehicle, EV charging, energy storage, renewable energy, UPS and solid-state circuit breaker applications and their power switching requirements
