About the Position
As an HR Coordinator, you'll manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee relations. You'll ensure I-9 compliance, maintain confidential records, and facilitate training. Your expertise in labor laws, strong interpersonal skills, and HR software proficiency are crucial for success. Bilingual Mandarin/English skills are a plus.
Responsibilities but not Limited to:
70% HR Support Functions
- Assist with onboarding processes, I-9 verification, employee terminations, and status changes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitate the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades.
- Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests from employees and management.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
- Liaise with HR and accounting teams to maintain payroll data, prepare reports, and ensure proper ledger entries.
- Cooperate with department colleagues and leaders to deal with human resources related matters.
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
20% Talent Acquisition Support
- Assist with talent acquisition processes, including resume screening, scheduling interviews, and negotiating salaries.
- Conduct full-cycle onboarding for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and candidate profiles.
- Maintain and update recruitment records and applicant tracking systems.
- Participate in recruitment events and job fairs to attract potential candidates.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
- Strong interest in payroll processing and HR functions.
- Basic knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks Payroll, etc.) is a plus.
- Understanding of federal and state regulations.
- Strong work ethic and team player.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Bilingual highly desired (Mandarin/English).

Compensation:
- The internship duration is 3 months.
- Upon successful completion of the 3-month probation period, the pay rate will increase to $22-25 per hour.
