The Quality Control Lead in food manufacturing is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the quality control team ensuring that all products meet both internal and external standards for safety and quality. They verify the quality of raw materials, maintains documentation of quality control activities, and liaises with production and operation teams to correct any identified quality issues.
Hours: 2pm - midnight (2nd-shift)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Quality Control departments on a daily basis to ensure product safety and compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to ensure all procedures are followed accurately.
- Train and coach quality control team members on standards and procedures.
- Review, update and implement quality control policies and procedures.
- Verify the quality of raw materials and finished products.
- Ensure that all testing and measuring equipment are correctly calibrated for standards.
- Identify any areas of quality non-conformance and working with appropriate teams to address these.
- Liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies to ensure operations are in compliance with food safety and health standards.
- Document, organize and maintain all quality control records and test results.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree preferred.
- Significant experience in a quality control role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
- Proficiency in using MS Office and database software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
