Mission:
As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst, you are responsible for the critical task of leading procurement strategies throughout the entire lifecycle of projects at A-C Electric Company. Your role is essential in shaping the procurement framework, enhancing supplier partnerships, and forecasting long-term supply requirements to align with our strategic objectives. You are a central figure in our Project Teams, championing innovation, strategic thinking, and exemplary procurement standards. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Coordination:
Collaborate with Project Management Teams in kickoff meetings to establish purchasing strategies that align with project requirements. Working closely with Project Managers, Plan Detailers, and Project Engineers, develop detailed Bills of Material (BOMs) reflecting project nuances and changes. Consolidate purchase orders where possible to streamline procurement processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials. Conduct regular meetings with Project Teams to provide updates on material order status, budget status, and any pertinent procurement-related matters, fostering transparency and alignment.
Identify Strategic Sourcing Options:
Discover new material sources and cost-saving opportunities for stakeholder consideration. Schedule lunch and learns with Project Managers and Superintendents that could aid in labor cost reductions through material design optimizations. Support material budget improvement efforts. Employ data analysis techniques to drive strategic sourcing and cost management initiatives. Propose viable options to the Project Teams for consideration.
Facilitate Competitive Bids:
Manage bid solicitations (RFQs) for purchases exceeding $10K. Develop RFQs and distribute to selected vendors. Evaluate vendor quotes based on TCO factors, including price, lead time, freight terms, material specifications, and past performance. Facilitate technical and commercial clarifications. Submit award recommendations to Project Management Teams.
Develop Strategic Vendor Partnerships:
Cultivate strong vendor relationships, ensure adherence to purchase order obligations, and proactively resolve issues. Provide vendors with performance feedback.
Execute Purchase Orders:
Effectively manage the acquisition of materials for Project Management Teams, ensuring optimization of the total cost of ownership (TCO). Verify that vendor quotes meet required material specifications and delivery timelines. Issue accurate and timely purchase orders to maintain project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Additional Job Duties:
Support Procurement Expeditor and Procurement Coordinator: Occasionally provide material expediting support to ensure timely arrivals of necessary materials. Resolve POD and invoicing discrepancies in weekly meetings with Procurement Expeditor and Procurement Coordinator.
Research and KPI Reporting: Analyze procurement data to identify trends and insights, support decision-making, and demonstrate the value added through procurement activities. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Forge collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to foster cohesive and streamlined procurement operations. Maintain transparent and frequent communication. Keep stakeholders updated on material reservation and purchase order status and promptly address concerns.
Continuous Improvement: Meet department OKRs and champion process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Implement best practices in procurement and purchase order processes. Consolidate purchase orders for efficiency gains.
Safety and Compliance: Champion a culture of safety and ensure materials are handled, stored, and transported in compliance with safety regulations.

Skills, Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Business Management is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 10 years of supply chain, procurement, sales, electrical construction or electrical industry (such as supply house) experience preferred, but not required.
- A working knowledge of electrical construction materials, coupled with the ability to source alternative vendor options is preferred, but not required.
- 5 years of procurement experience preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Pay Range: $65,000 – $100,000. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
