Summary:
Our Fortune 100 client is seeking a Disaster Recovery Systems Engineer to work primarily onsite in Franklin, WI. This is a contract role with possibility of extension.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute disaster recovery (DR) procedures for technology services.
- Identify and mitigate critical risks to application, infrastructure, and enterprise recoverability.
- Create DR patterns for infrastructure services.
- Define DR scenarios and facilitate the development of recovery procedures.
- Ensure adherence to DR standards and best practices.
- Create and maintain application and technology recovery sequences.
- Conduct technology resiliency testing, including high availability, DR, and chaos testing.
- Perform functional DR exercises to validate business recovery capabilities.
- Conduct DR tests for distributed, cloud, and mainframe platforms.
- Identify and manage DR gaps.
Must-Have Skills:
- Ability to analyze application and infrastructure architecture diagrams.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure services like network, server storage, and middleware technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to scope, plan, and manage cross-department or multi-department projects.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large, complex technology assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong prioritization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 4-5 years of professional experience.
- Familiarity with enterprise technologies, including compute, storage, database, middleware, virtualization, AWS services, firewalls, VPN, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of risk analysis methods.
- Ability to collaborate with business and IT units to provide end-to-end DR solutions.
- Understanding of disaster and cyber threat recovery.
- Experience with orchestrated enterprise planning methodologies (e.g., Agile).
- Experience with enterprise technology planning and delivery software (e.g., JiraAlign, Jira).
- Strong self-learning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
