The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the development and design of electrical control systems for Oil & Gas drilling equipment. In this role the Electrical Engineer will design and produce documentation, drawings, and procedures for control systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produce drawings packages: Electrical One Line Diagrams, Wiring / Interconnect Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, I/O Lists, Cable Indexes, Fabrication and Assembly general arrangement drawings of Control Panels and Terminal Boxes, Cable and Instrument Layouts, Hazardous Area Layouts.
- Provide technical support for drilling products, aftermarket/service, and installation & commissioning.
- Design electrical subsystems and assemblies within budget and schedule to meet customer and internal requirements.
- Coordinate and review designs with customers and internal department leads.
- Design new drilling equipment.
- Coordinate equipment Factory Acceptance Tests, electrical commissioning, and start-up support as required.
- Provide leadership and expertise in continuing to improve the quality and process.
- Ensure that equipment designs comply with industry standards, foreign or domestic.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5 or more years experience designing electrical control systems
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE and IEC standards
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD
- Experience working with PLC and HMI applications
