Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 14 years of increasingly responsible Systems Engineering roles in the development, integration and support of large-scale software intensive systems. A Master's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience may be substituted.
Required Experience:
- Experience with complex command and control systems, mission analysis, performance analysis, requirements solicitation, decomposition, and management, application of modeling to testing and verification
- Demonstrated experience in the development of models to drive solutions in complex systems is required with specific demonstrated expertise in DoDAF and SysML methodology
- Experience in the development of key diagram types to create logical and physical models that depict static and dynamic behavior, performance, element interactions, internal and external interfaces, states, and modes
- Extensive experience in transitioning a mature and evolving project into MBSE
- Experience with Cameo (or Magic Draw), Enterprise Architect, Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements (DOORs) to manage multiple product baselines
- Has the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Command & Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) System
- Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition is a plus
- Experienced user of the DOORS tool
- Requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower level subsystems and components
- Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system; defining the relationships between internal and external components; communicating system level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users
- Skills generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities
- Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition, as well as knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation are highly desirable
Foundational System Engineering experience must include:
- Specific roles on a program with respect to use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition through a structured and logical approach
- Demonstrated ability to analyze high level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
- Demonstrated ability to implement engineering plans within a project
- Experience with Cyber Security, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and network design are also desired
Responsibilities
This position is for the Model Based Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) System.
The selected applicant will consume use cases, and systems engineering artifacts including definition of Epics and Features to implement customer requested capabilities. Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews. Position will also provide support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance skills in the department.
- Must have the ability to be flexible to support various tasking on short notice
- Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available
Additional responsibilities include:
- Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures - Reviewing the content and details of technical products
- Acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis
- Be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning and status
Salary Range: $140 - $160k/base++
