- Wednesday-Sunday: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
- Wednesday-Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:50 PM
About the Role:
As a Manufacturing Technician, you'll assist in the tissue and viral culture of Chicken Embryo Fibroblast (CEF) cells, a crucial process in the production of Marek’s Disease vaccines. Working in a controlled, clean room environment, you'll be responsible for performing calculations to ensure optimal cell and virus particle amounts, preparing growth media, and managing the meticulous process of vaccine production from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aseptic Technique: Perform all laboratory procedures under a Grade A Laminar Air Flow hood, ensuring the highest standards of aseptic processing.
- Clean Room Operations: Daily gowning in sterile hooded coveralls, goggles, face masks, and gloves is required to maintain a contaminant-free environment.
- SOP Adherence: Follow detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and consistency in vaccine production.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, legible, and timely records of all laboratory procedures.
- Tissue & Viral Culture: Engage in tissue and viral culture techniques to ensure the successful propagation of CEF cells and Marek’s virus.
- Media Preparation: Assist in the preparation of growth and cryoprotectant media essential for various vaccine production stages.
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with Laboratory Support Technicians to prepare laboratory dishware and manage cryogenic storage processes.
What You’ll Need:
- Core Competencies: Ability to navigate complexity, a client-focused mindset, collaborative spirit, empathy, ambition, accountability, and strong influencing skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in aseptic techniques, clean room protocols, cell and viral culture knowledge, and strong mathematical aptitude.
- Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required. Previous manufacturing experience is beneficial.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks, stand and walk for extended periods, and lift/carry weights up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a clean room environment, with the ability to dress in required protective gear.
