Our client is a retail and manufacturing enterprise organization. They are growing their IT team and bringing more direct hire, salaried employees to their Enterprise Data Architecture team.
This opportunity is for an immediate start, as the company is transitioning its most critical technical resources in-house after previously outsourcing them to third-party partners. The Senior Data Warehouse Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading the development and design of an enterprise data warehouse platform, working closely with key stakeholders to support the organization's ongoing growth.
This is a high-profile, direct-hire position essential to the business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in driving the design, development, and maintenance of cloud data warehouses and reporting solutions in a collaborative environment. The role requires the ability to travel to the Arlington Heights office three days per week to work closely with business stakeholders.
Position Summary:
- Take a hands-on approach in the design and development of cloud data warehousing projects.
- Collaborate with integration teams to design and optimize data integrations from various sources.
- Develop logic for moving data from SAP into Snowflake.
- Optimize data infrastructure, pipelines, and processing workflows to enhance system performance.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate technical specifications into actionable plans.
- Validate and create tabular reports for business use.
- Conduct quality checks, identify root causes of issues, and implement resolutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain data models and schemas for reporting needs.
- Partner with the business to make recommendations based on both business and technical requirements.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in the data field.
- Over 4 years of experience working on Snowflake data warehouse projects, with more than 6 years of experience in SQL and ETL pipeline development.
- Experience with SAP ERP modules (e.g., OTC, Master Data, Warehouse Management, Transportation, or Finance).
- Familiarity with AWS Glue, Python, or PySpark is a plus!
- Experience in developing tabular reports using Power BI or Tableau.
- Must have utilized SAP ERP as a data source.
