Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and strategic Buying Manager to join our dynamic team and contribute to our success. As a Buying Manager at The Feed, you will play a crucial role in shaping our product strategy and assortment. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing products, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the availability and competitiveness of our product range. Your expertise in market trends and consumer preferences will guide our buying decisions and enhance our brand's presence in the industry.
NOTE: This is an in-office position, located in Broomfield, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to source products that align with our brand vision and customer needs.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Assortment Planning: Develop and manage the product assortment strategy, including selecting products, determining pricing, and coordinating promotions to maximize sales and profitability.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to make data-driven buying decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and sales performance to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, sales, and operations, to align product strategies with overall business goals.
- Performance Tracking: Analyze sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of buying strategies and make necessary adjustments.
- Budget Management: Oversee the buying budget and financial performance of product categories to achieve targets and objectives.

Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in buying or purchasing, preferably within a startup or entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and industry competition.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in data analysis and inventory management tools.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, startup environment.
