The EHS Manager's role encompasses supervising the creation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the company's environmental, health, and safety initiatives. This is encompassing areas such as DOT, Sustainability, Environmental, and Industrial Hygiene.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures in line with organizational goals and regulatory mandates.
- Establish performance metrics for EHS and lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance outcomes and align with corporate objectives.
- Lead and nurture the EHS team, overseeing recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional growth.
- Design and deliver EHS training initiatives to educate staff on pertinent topics such as hazard awareness, safety protocols, and regulatory adherence.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure documentation accessibility and currency.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all local, state, federal, and internal EHS regulations and protocols.
- Manage regulatory inspections, audits, and reporting obligations.
- Secure and renew necessary permits in a timely manner.
- Supervise incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analyses, implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze incident data to identify improvement areas and prioritize EHS projects.
- Develop and execute risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and corrective plans to mitigate or eliminate hazards.
- Conduct routine workplace inspections and audits to identify potential risks and non-compliance issues.
- Facilitate and engage in essential EHS activities, including emergency response, safety committees, and first responder training, to ensure regulatory compliance and employee safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ yrs in an EHS role
