Contractor Electrical Engineer – UAV Electrical Team
Length - 12 months (indefinate)
Strativ has partnered with an Aerospace organization that is developing a cutting-edge Group 3 VTOL fixed-wing UAV to support them on contract hire for an Electrical Engineer to lead the electronic systems team. This role involves overseeing power, propulsion, avionics, payloads, and flight control systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design for unmanned systems and will manage and mentor other electrical engineers and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Lead all technical decisions for UAS electronic systems.
- Manage daily tasks and performance of the electrical engineering/technician team.
- Provide technical oversight.
- Create manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with CTO and Program Manager.
- Communicate customer requirements and influence aircraft design accordingly.
Skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and datasheets.
- Skilled in using electronic, hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
- Experience in soldering, and fabrication of electrical harnesses, RF cables, and circuit board assemblies.
- Ability to install and modify avionics modules, harnesses, and RF cables in UAV airframes.
- Capable of repairing and calibrating avionics modules.
- Experienced in setting up and operating test equipment.
- Competent in writing procedures and updating documentation.
- Organized and maintained tools, test equipment, and fixtures efficiently.
Contract on W2 or 1099
Full time on-site
Location: Alabama, US - citizenship is needed
