WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Data Steward to serve as an embedded expert on our client’s data team. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of data and business processes and a proven track record of success in ensuring data quality and facilitating its proper usage, standardization, and documentation across an enterprise organization to ensure consistency.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
You will provide day-to-day expertise and coordination of the data quality and integrity of the data within your domain. As a functional expert, your role is critical for our client’s data governance initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 5+ years of total relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Thoughtful process of analyzing data and problem-solving skills to reach a well-reasoned solution.
- High sense of urgency and follow-through. Ability to partner effectively with teams to execute common goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the quality of data within your domain and work to ensure data is populating as expected.
- Support data correction and override processes when mandated by policies or procedures.
- Support efforts to drive continuous improvement and implementation of Data Governance processes, policies, business rules, data quality rules, data definitions, data classifications, metadata and other compliance needs, data security, and compliance initiatives.
- Responsible for reporting on data quality to include the defining of data quality measurements, data quality expectations, validation of controls, and reporting on data issues.
- Facilitate escalations, drive remediation and resolution, and perform root cause analysis for data issues.
- Responsible for identifying, defining, classifying, reviewing, and validating metadata within your domain.
- Work closely with data owner(s) to make sure data is protected, secured, and used for authorized purposes only.
- Build, manage, and curate data catalog with metadata to enable data owners and stakeholders to govern data assets.
- Spread data awareness across organizations and ensure data literacy and data-driven decisions are promoted to maximize the use and value of data for the business.
