Title: Senior Automation Project Manager
Perm: $120,000-$140,000
Location: Twin Cities- onsite 5 days a week
Hours: Mon-Fri 8a-5p
Interview Process: 3-4 person panel, one panel interview followed up by a same day facility walkthrough- 2-3 hour process
Day-to-Day:
The Senior Automation Project Manager will provide expertise in engineering, design, installation, and start-up of automation systems. This role is pivotal in assisting manufacturing operations with problem-solving related to automated systems and validating process and facility automation. This position is new to the company and will play a crucial role in determining material handling and driving automation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
This individual will develop, design, validate, and implement automation systems and process improvements. They will work on-site and lead cross-functional teams to identify business goals, requirements, and improve design. Collaborate with various teams to optimize processes, improve quality, and reduce costs. They will champion the integration and interaction of systems and act as a superuser of the systems in the facility. This includes conducting root-cause analysis to determine automation design requirements. Developing project plans, timelines, and speed requirements to meet operational needs. Supporting deployed automation systems for Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) and Collaborative Robots (COBOT) solutions. Retrofitting Automated Mobile Robots (AMRs) to future solutions. Perform risk assessments and identify potential safety hazards in automation systems. Work with vendors on RFID implementation and tool automation.
Must Haves:
- BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation system development and project management
- 5+ years engineering field experience
- Experience with relevant programming languages to support various automation solutions
- Knowledge of automation system controls and hardware such as sensors, motors, and controllers
- Knowledge of manufacturing software such as SAP, MES, or SCADA systems
Plusses:
- Materials Handling industry experience- EX: Amazon or UPS- Communicate to Automation Systems
- Experience with Robotics, Data Analytics, or Machine Learning is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to learn new technologies and be self-motivated
