The Strategic Program Manager will work closely with executive and senior leadership to ensure value realization of strategic enterprise initiatives. Enterprise initiatives encompass cross-functional programs that deliver business capabilities which drive competitive advantage, and frequently have lifecycles that span multiple years.
This position will be on-site at the Springfield Corporate Campus, this is not eligible for hybrid/remote work.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead the delivery of portfolio programs from concept to completion through collaboration to identify, justify, prioritize and deliver high value features and capabilities that drive business results.
- Develop business cases, financial impact analysis, and resource analysis.
- Plan, monitor, report and manage risk, resource allocation, budget tracking, and value delivery metrics.
- Develop a shared understanding with leadership of program goals, outcomes, timeframes, effort, and risk.
- Apply strong facilitation and negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and accomplish desired goals.
- Frame information and decisions to enable management and leadership to clearly understand decision milestones, recommendations, and options.
- Develop strong relationships with business, operational and IT leaders.
- Assist with the supervision and development of project managers including performance management, goal setting, hiring, evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Demonstrate ownership and shared responsibility of program outcomes in partnership with all stakeholders.
- Leverage reporting and escalation mechanisms to hold managers and directors accountable to deliver projects, activities, and key milestones required to achieve desired outcomes.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years program and project management experience
- Experience managing a collection of interdependent projects as a program, delivering desired outcome(s)
- Proven experience with project management techniques, processes, and PPM tools
- Ability to apply sound decision making and problem solving with flexibility, agility and creativity
- Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency and drive results
- Advanced interpersonal, collaboration, and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate clearly, efficiently, and effectively within all levels of the organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment Excellent facilitation and mediation skills
- Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment, assertiveness
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills with ability to conduct presentations comfortably to large groups
- Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
- Advanced Planning Abilities, Organizational Skills, And Problem Solving Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical individuals
- Ability to manage by influence using courage, sound judgement, trustworthiness, and candor
Desired:
- Master’s degree
- ERP implementation experience or similar large project experience
- PMP, PgMP, Agile and SAFe certifications
