RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing and reporting on sales performance, including evaluating national promotions, enhancing TLOG data capabilities, and automating sales tracking systems. This role is tasked with managing projects by collaborating with management and business partners to define objectives, develop analytical models, and ensure compliance with business requirements documents. The role also involves supporting COMPANY Analytics through documentation, testing, and demonstration of tools, as well as handling ad hoc analyses and forecasting duties to optimize inventory and assess promotional strategies. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst will work with the IS department to maintain data integrity and enhance data collection processes across business intelligence environments.
▪ Sales Analysis & Reporting
Analyze the performance of National promotions that includes sales volumes, gross profit performance and other key business metrics
Expand capabilities in TLOG data analysis, including but not limited to market-basket analysis, ticket profile analytics and coupon/discount effectiveness
Design models and/or prepare analyses to support organizational needs related to sales planning and restaurant financial performance
Support the Senior Manager to apply QSR industry knowledge and experience in interpreting results and presenting findings
Perform the necessary analysis for selecting highly correlated control markets and appropriate pre/test/post periods for Market and Ops tests
Automate and maintain national sales trackers as well as the set-up of promotion/test parameters within internal operational system (Supply.net)
▪ Management by Objectives
Collaborate with management and business partners to scope objectives
Identify and define project deliverables with IS and business partners
Develop analytical models to determine required logic and business rules
Document findings in business requirements documents (BRD) describing deliverable and technical specifications
Validate and test deliverables to ensure BRD compliance
▪ COMPANY Analytics o Document business rules and reporting specifications for POS related reports and dashboards on COMPANY’s member facing desktop and mobile tools
Support testing and validation of functionality including support for the COMPANY Help Desk in resolving issues and/or answering member inquiries regarding COMPANY Analytics or third-party delivery tools
• Ad Hoc Analyses
Design modeling and business rules for a variety of company reports and ad hoc analyses such as but not limited to:
▪ Topline Sales & Ideal Gross Profit
▪ Restaurant Waste & Loss
▪ Price elasticity analysis
• Forecasting
Assist the Promotions Planning & Inventory Management department in optimizing inventory through the review, analysis, and validation of select National Menu Item Forecasts
Review the Pre/Promo Sales Indexing data for Limited Time Offer (LTO) promotional items to facilitate product placement within distribution center
▪ Data Collection & Maintenance o Collaborate with IS department to maintain, and enhance as needed, POS data quality rules
Isolate and troubleshoot data integrity problems across COMPANY’s business intelligence environment, including but not limited to:
▪ Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
▪ Analytics generated by the enterprise business intelligence platform

▪ Self-Service Business Intelligence Platform
Collaborate with IS department to leverage the business intelligence platform in automating analytical requests and making POS analytics available for the enterprise
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• BS or BA in Business, or related field. MSBA preferred
• Minimum 3 years corporate analytical experience (financial, data, business)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong Data Storytelling skills o Ability to build a narrative (written and using visualizations) around the data that provides learnings for your audience and enhances their ability to act on your findings
• Ability to work thru extraordinary amounts of detail while understanding the “big picture”
• Ability to build strong working relationships with business partners within the Business Insights and Analytics department, other departments, vendors, and our members
• Good command of the English language with strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with:
Microsoft Office (with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint)
Business intelligence tools
▪ Tableau Certification a plus
▪ MicroStrategy Certification a plus
SQL query development
Working knowledge of Python a plus
