Director of Concrete Operations - Industrial and Commercial Markets - Baltimore, MD
Gryphon Oakwood are currently seeking a Director of Operations to lead the operations team within a major Concrete contractor. The company focus on industrial and commercial contracts including foundations, pre-cast and tilt-up projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects directly alongside building effective operations teams.
Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, managing field teams.
- Technical Expertise: Ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and quality standards for concrete construction.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and planning skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Leadership: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate and lead teams.
- Safety Expertise: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, ability to create and maintain a safe work environment.
- Financial Management: Understanding of budgeting and cost control.
- Time Management: Balancing multiple responsibilities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety regulations in a fast-paced environment.
- Quality Control: Maintaining high-quality standards while meeting project timelines.
- Team Management: Managing diverse teams and resolving conflicts.
- Budget Control: Managing project costs within budget constraints.
- Technology Integration: Utilizing project management software and other digital tools to improve efficiency.
- Risk Management: Implementing proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Sustainability: Incorporating sustainable practices into concrete construction projects.
- Continuous Learning: Staying updated on industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in concrete within industrial and commercial construction
- An associates degree is preferred but not required
- Experience managing small to medium sized team
- Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes. In a professional and ethical manner.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors and company contacts.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above.
- Willingness to continue education in changing industry.
- Willingness to mentor employees resulting in increased knowledge improved skills and enhanced abilities.
