Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team in Houston. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading ASME NQA-1 indoctrination and certification activities, drafting and reviewing NQA-1 required procedures, supporting internal audit activities (NQA-1, ISO 9001), and leading technical root cause analysis and corrective actions. This role is critical in ensuring that the company's products and processes meet the rigorous quality standards expected in the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ASME NQA-1 indoctrination and certification activities, ensuring all processes align with regulatory and industry standards.
- Draft, review, and maintain NQA-1 required procedures, ensuring compliance with ASME codes and other relevant standards.
- Support and participate in internal audit activities, including NQA-1 and ISO 9001, to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality management systems.
- Lead technical root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address non-conformances and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality assurance strategies across the organization.
- Provide training and guidance on quality management principles and best practices to team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and process quality.
- Ensure documentation and records are maintained accurately and are readily available for audit and review purposes.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality management in the oil and gas sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on ASME NQA-1 and ISO 9001 standards.
- In-depth knowledge of ASME NQA-1 requirements and certification processes.
- Proven experience in leading technical root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and audit processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present findings to stakeholders.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA) is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards in the oil and gas sector.
