An electric utility client is looking for an IT Project Management Associate who will support multiple IT projects in the Customer Service Technology Portfolio, primarily working on the company's website.
Location: Rosemead, CA 91770 (Hybrid)
Position: IT Project Management Associate
Pay Rate: $50/hr. on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 8 am – 5 pm Pacific Time, Weekdays except for the company's holidays
***Hybrid, on-site 2x per week beginning week of 9/3; Wednesdays are required, 2nd day to be determined by IT leadership soon.***
TEAM STRUCTURE:
The Project Analyst will report directly to the hiring manager, but will also be matrixed to IT Project Managers (multiple) to provide specific project support on a day-to-day basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary job responsibilities for the Project Analyst include but are not limited to the following:
- Analysis Support: Work with functional business and technical leads/team members to produce work papers key deliverables and project artifacts such as requirements user stories design documentation and other technical deliverables in the course of project execution. Provide project controls for managing document versions scope change requests etc. utilizing company standard tools including SharePoint UMT360 Octane and other tools Capture monitor and drive closure on action items risks issues decisions record and track items in logs including aging and escalations as needed.
- Project Management Support: Support the company's Delivery manager in collecting and generating status updates for various project workstreams. Maintain project data in the company's standard project documentation tools UMT360 Octane.
- Testing: Collaborate with testing leads to produce and maintain relevant testing deliverables including but not limited to the UAT test plan. Test scenarios, test cases, and test data. Test scripts, Expected results, Coordinate and support test execution including scheduling of resources and daily test plan execution. Provide daily status of test execution against plan.
- Project coordination: Meeting scheduling, facilitation, scribing, and distribution of meeting notes. Coordination of documentation collection and sign-off Miscellaneous administrative tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- 5-7 years of experience working with IT project management or projects
- Project management support, including schedule updates (Microsoft Project), SharePoint management (for documents and access), Risks/Issues logs, creation and updates to weekly status reports;
- User Story documentation and management, with tools such as Jira or Octane;
- Maintenance of Testing artifacts (plans, scripts, test data/cases, results);
- Support for financial forecasts or budgets on IT projects;
- Microsoft Office product suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience working with IT Projects in project analyst roles.
- 3+ years working on Agile/Scrum projects required.
- 3+ years working for Electric Utility or related industries desired.
SOFT SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to organize/schedule meetings and capture succinct and accurate notes on behalf of the project manager.
- Ability to work comfortably with all levels of employees.
- Able to work with diverse teams including the company's IT and business resources, and technical (IT) offshore vendor resources.
- Demonstrate proactiveness and initiative to chase down action items and bring them to closure.
