Lead eCommerce Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office) - Niles, IL
We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of data, BI, and analytic solutions. This role involves business process analysis, database design, and the development and enhancement of data processes, alongside the creation of reports and dashboards. As a senior team member, you will manage project tasks from initial requirements gathering to final implementation, while also mentoring team members and ensuring consistent communication with both the team and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead data modeling and database design efforts.
- Oversee data processing within SQL Server BI-stack architecture and development.
- Conduct query and performance analysis to optimize system performance.
- Engage in extensive interaction with business units and technology teams to gather requirements and drive development.
- Design and implement enterprise-level BI tools and solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in data/analytics development and architecture.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role, with experience in mentoring and guiding teams.
- Expertise in SQL Server Technologies, including T-SQL and SSIS.
- Strong background in data architecture design, ETL processes, and analytics.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data projects and enterprise data warehouse systems, preferably in cloud environments.
- Ability to design and document complex data architectures.
- Proficiency in tools like Tableau for platform architecture and development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours as needed for project support.
