Title: Director Surgical Services
Location: Riverside, CA
Shift: Full-Time No Weekends
Job Summary:
The role of Director of Surgical Services leads the perioperative team by focusing on safe patient care while effectively managing operations. The Director Surgical Services has 24/7 responsibility for their departments.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation required
- Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred

- 14 ORs in main & across street have 3 ORs
- Need someone that has lot of experience!
- Level 1 trauma, open heart, no transplant
- Had a lot of quality issues with regulatory, patient safety issues, right time outs, patient safety issues, count process, etc.
- Operationally struggled with efficiency in the OR, room turnarounds, 1 st case on time starts, well versed in operations & improving efficiency
- Really been struggling on Employee Engagement this year, comes down to leadership style & communication, someone able to connect and communicate well with teams
- Physician engagement better but needs someone to own relationships
- Volume/growth - volume is growing, on inpatient side up 3% & outpatient side up 17% growth
- 3 managers total
- FTEs 100 FTEs
- Need previous director experience
