This Project Inspector position in Buzzards Bay, MA, for a utility provider involves overseeing construction projects to ensure they adhere to established plans, specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role includes daily inspections, report preparation, documentation of site conditions, and interfacing with various stakeholders to promote safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure construction projects meet specifications and safety standards.
- Inspect project sites for compliance with permits, OSHA guidelines, and company policies.
- Prepare daily reports and field documentation, including end-of-project assessments.
- Update construction drawings and suggest project scope changes when necessary.
- Conduct pre-construction site documentation and post-construction punch list inspections.
- Interface with base personnel on safety concerns and ensure adherence to Risk Management reports.
- Maintain a professional relationship with affiliates, contractors, and government agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of relevant experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, or related fields.
- Obtain necessary certifications within the first year (e.g., APWA Certified Public Infrastructure Inspector).
- OSHA 30-hour construction qualification or commitment to complete it within six months.
- Competence in construction symbols, plan reading, and basic mathematics.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Windows, Adobe products, and report writing.
- Valid Driver's License and commitment to ongoing safety training and respirator fit testing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working at elevated heights.
- Engage in physical activities such as climbing, kneeling, and crouching, with full vision and hearing capabilities.
