Overview & Purpose:
The Project Manager is responsible for the execution of projects from inception to completion. They will organize and control project elements, leveraging the right staff per project, ensuring effective resource sharing and financial monitoring. The Project Manager also plays an important role in developing, maintaining and deepening client relationships and promoting the Precis brand.
Our Project Managers act as a conduit between the technical staff and the client. They also work in collaboration and partnership with the Account Manager for the client serviced, and our Accounting group.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams for various -size projects for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and university markets
- Develop new clients, maintain and expand the relationship and scope of work with existing clients
- Determine project requirements, customer requirements, performance standards, complete technical studies, prepare cost estimates
- Prepare proposals in response to RFPs
- Identify project phases and elements; determine resource needs for project responsibilities and participate in planning to assign personnel accordingly
- Develop basis of design systems and guidelines; present conceptual designs
- Present information, report out, represent Precis and the project team at client meetings
- Perform quality reviews and assume accountability for quality on all projects managed.
- Prepare and review systems calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems
- Control project costs and confirm project performance using key performance indicators
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information; recommend actions
- Maintain compliance with all applicable building codes; maintain all procedures, rules and standards for processing in GMP environments
- Ensure accurate invoicing, monitoring assigned projects; address elevated billing issues when they arise
- Maintain all internal and external communications as required to ensure project requirements are being successfully executed
A successful candidate will have the following Qualifications
- An engineering degree and 5 to 10 years of experience in the field
- PE license strongly preferred
- The ability to work well with others, lead a team and manage in matrix teams and environments with multiple clients
- Experience in technical leadership, schedule, cost, and scope management
- Delegation, mentoring, negotiating and team skills
- Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Logical thinking with creative problem-solving skills
- Understanding of budget control
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
