Job Description:
Our client is on the lookout for a proactive and independent Senior Energy Engineer. This role requires a highly organized, semi-autonomous professional who excels with minimal supervision and can effectively communicate directly with senior client stakeholders on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive energy analyses to deliver effective and timely solutions.
- Consistently meet or exceed project deadlines.
- Delegate tasks efficiently to junior team members.
- Act as a "value visionary," identifying client needs from limited information and developing strategic roadmaps to achieve their goals with minimal guidance.
- Maintain clear, concise, and logical communication.
- Collaborate effectively with subcontractors, potential future subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to execute energy projects.
Core Requirements:
- Strong technical engineering background.
- Experience with central plants (chillers, boilers) and distributed air handling systems.
- Proficiency in BAS/BMS/SCADA automation systems.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software and spreadsheet analysis.
- Strong understanding of energy economics.
- Excellent client communication and management skills.
- Familiarity with energy audit and retro-commissioning processes.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ideal Candidates:
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Note: Candidates with experience solely in electrification, VRF, heat pumps, solar, wind, or geothermal without BAS/BMS experience will not be considered.
Preferred Building Automation Systems Experience:
- Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, ALC, etc.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of NY/NJ utility incentive programs (e.g., ConEd, NYSERDA, NJ SmartStart).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of energy project finance and funding methods.
