The Role
Our client is in an exciting phase of growth, expanding their partnerships with top tech companies to create groundbreaking AI technologies. The team has developed advanced computational tools that are being implemented in various AI research projects, and they are investing heavily in further research to enhance these technologies. A key aspect of their progress is improving their computational infrastructure to speed up R&D cycles and streamline the application of developed technologies. They are seeking a skilled ML engineer to drive this initiative. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining systems for data management, large-scale training, rapid experimentation, and ML model deployment.
- Developing and overseeing systems for distributed inference of AI models.
- Optimizing, deploying, and supporting essential computational workflows for the research team.
- Collaborating with other scientists and engineers to identify and implement infrastructure improvements that increase efficiency and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in creating and deploying scalable ML systems and tools that facilitate a smooth transition from prototype to production.
- Strong software development skills, with a keen ability to design appropriate abstractions and balance complexity with flexibility.
- Proven track record in scaling infrastructure within a rapidly growing startup or team.
- Proficiency in setting up and managing automation tools (e.g., CI), development environments (e.g., Docker, AWS), and version control systems (e.g., GitHub) for ML workflows.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Machine learning/closely related subject area from a well regarded technical university
- 2+ Years in a commercial ML Engineering role
The salary on offer for this role is up to $225,000 with flexibility for the right person. It's based in central Boston, with most of the team in the office 3+ times a week. There are huge equity upside potentials at play, as well as a strong bonus.
