We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Coordinator with a strong focus on customer service. This position requires the ability to track and complete daily tasks accurately and on time. Familiarity with distribution and warehouse operations is preferred, along with experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to manage and support customer account operations. The role involves effective communication with staff and overseeing warehouse personnel to ensure the successful completion of tasks within specified deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and manage multiple distribution accounts through WMS.
- Ensure accurate data entry in WMS for outbound orders, billing services, inbound receiving, and adherence to operational procedures.
- Assist in checking orders, verifying inbound shipments, and training warehouse staff in these areas.
- Monitor and process customer shipments, including communication via email, WMS data entry, releasing orders for picking, billing, scheduling carrier pickups, preparing freight labels, BOLs, packing slips, and updating customers on delivery status.
- Handle parcel shipments through UPS and FedEx, including managing claims and damage reports.
- Perform physical inventory checks, research discrepancies, and reconcile inventories using WMS against physical counts, including communicating with customers and carriers for discrepancy investigations.
- Prepare and review inbound paperwork, assist in receiving inspections, and ensure proper freight labeling and storage in the warehouse.
- Oversee inbound shipments by processing in WMS, verifying freight against paperwork, and handling damage inspections, reports, and claims.
- Track and coordinate ocean container and air freight shipments, updating customers and preparing documentation in WMS.
- Schedule ocean container delivery appointments with carriers and manage outbound shipments in coordination with LTL and FT carriers.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree and 2-3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, terminal operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of local harbor procedures and drayage carrier operations is required.
