Job Description:
The Body Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations within the body shop department. This role includes managing a team of skilled technicians and support staff, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance, optimizing workflow, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The Body Shop Manager will also be responsible for financial management, inventory control, and adhering to industry regulations and safety standards.
This position demands a blend of technical knowledge, leadership ability, and financial acumen to ensure the body shop operates smoothly and profitably while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise and mentor body shop employees, including technicians and support staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale.
- Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of the body shop to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures to maintain high-quality standards.
- Schedule and allocate work to technicians based on skill levels and workload demands.
- Customer Service
- Interact with customers to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the services provided.
- Handle customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain strong relationships with commercial clients and work to expand the customer base.
- Serve as liaison between customer and insurance company to process claim and ensure repairs completed
- Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the body shop budget, including forecasting revenue and expenses.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
- Review and approve all estimates and invoices before submission to customers.
- Inventory and Equipment Management
- Oversee the procurement and inventory of parts, materials, and supplies.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working condition.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for staff.
- Investigate and report all accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Educational Requirements:
A college degree or equivalent Medium/Heavy duty truck industry experience, a minimum of (5) years truck technician experience, CDL Certification, and 2 years foreman experience are required.
Familiarity with computer skills (PC and business system – i.e. ADP) are preferred.
