The Human Resource (HR) Consultant conducts analytical assessments and evaluations to understand issues to support decision making, policy development, system development, and administration of HR and compensation-related processes while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
Assists and collaborates in the planning, coordination, facilitation, administration, and reporting of the annual increase and bonus processes.
Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
Working with HR leaders, assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and provides appropriate salary data for job.
Monitor compensation related activities and FLSA status to ensure compliance with Federal and State wage and hour laws.
Completes mandatory government employment and wage reporting.
Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to provide competitive compensation data as requested.
Prepares and maintains job classifications.
Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
Use computer databases, electronic spreadsheets, desktop publishing, word processing, and statistical applications to manipulate, analyze, develop and present data to support business leaders in their decision making.
Consults with managers on a variety of organizational management, compensation, and related human resources issues.
Performs other HR projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
Required minimum education: 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
Required Major/Focus: Human Resources or related major
A combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Licensure/Certifications
Preferred: HR Certification in Compensation (CCP or SHRM – CP or -SCP)
Qualifications
Required:
Five to seven years of experience as a performing like role.
At least two years of human resource generalist experience.
Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Ability to respond to variable situations requiring analytical, interpretative, evaluative and constructive thinking abilities.
Advanced logical and deductive reasoning abilities.
Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Demonstrated Team Player.
Continuous improvement mindset and ability to measure results through data and metrics.
Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
