Job Description: Electrical Test Engineer - Power Supply
Location: Onsite - Renton, WA
Contract/CTH
Responsibilities:
- Develop test plans, procedures, and scripts to perform shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, and vacuum testing on high and low voltage flight hardware.
- Conduct verification testing that includes power-on, functional, acceptance, and qualification, and document test results for the high and low voltage distribution, power regulation, and conversion hardware.
- Support the integration of vehicle hardware and analysis tooling necessary to verify the requirements and performance of units under test.
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a lab environment.
- Support integration and test activities including wiring, hardware installation, and test bench setup.
- Participate in design and system reviews to provide feedback on integration and testability throughout all phases of the project.
- Participate in program-level technology development, mission assurance and safety initiatives, and development process improvements.
- Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- A breadth of understanding in electronics hardware development such as testing high voltage switching, high voltage and power regulation, or other advanced electronic commercial or aerospace products.
- Experience with analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, test, troubleshooting, and part selection.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles.
- Experience developing special electronic test equipment and troubleshooting equipment.
- Proficient in the use of standard electronic lab tests and troubleshooting equipment.
- Experience with programming in C++ and/or Python.
- NI Labview / TestStand experience.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with the development and execution of a large-scale verification of avionics on autonomous spaceflight systems.
- Experience supporting testbeds for spaceflight systems.
- Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools: LTSpice, PSpice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, Simscape.
