Title: Facility Engineer
Location: Onsite 1 day a week (typically team is in on Tuesdays)
Duration: 9-month contract to hire, will convert perm after 9 months
Must be able to obtain DoD secret clearance – does not need an active secret to be considered
Must Haves:
- 10+ years of experience working within a vehicle manufacturing environment
- Experience with space allocation and optimization
- Understanding of vehicle repair processes
- Ability to source and implement effective engineering solutions
- Experience in Industrial Engineering
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering field (Industrial, Mechanical, or related field)
Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Facility Engineer to join one of our largest defense clients that are based out of Warren, MI; this position will be onsite 1 day a week onsite and core hours are 9 – 3 PM. This role is supporting the U.S. Army's Ground Combat Systems program in a partner country. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our international partners possess the facilities and capabilities to effectively maintain and support ground combat vehicles. Responsibilities will include analyzing space allocation, identifying potential impeding issues in manufacturing processes, and recommending solutions to enhance overall efficiency. This position also requires reviewing facility plans, which involves working closely with international companies, to support ground combat vehicles. This involves ensuring the plans align with our technical specifications, identify any potential shortcomings, and collaborate on modifications for optimal functionality. You will also leverage your engineering expertise to optimize the capabilities of existing facilities within our partner country. Other responsibilities include planning for future growth within our partner country’s facilities; reviewing expansion plans, identifying opportunities to increase capacity, and providing recommendations for infrastructure improvements. This position will not require international travel but may include domestic travel within the US to collaborate with domestic industrial partners.
