We are looking for a Seasonal Quality Assurance Technician to join our Las Vegas team!
Responsibilities:
- Monitor process controls (Receiving, Allergen Control, Foreign Material Control, Labeling Requirements, Package Integrity, Product Specifications, FEFO, Shipping) to ensure adherence to all food safety and quality programs.
- Receive, approve/reject, and generate documentation for incoming raw material and packaging (including labeling).
- Work with fulfillment and packaging associates to ensure outgoing shipments adhere to customer and Sugarfina’s expectations.
- Create, keep updated and ensure site compliance with finished product packaging procedures.
- Carry out label verification checks.
- Train fulfillment team on new products and/or standards released by Sugarfina Corporate team.
- Monitor employees for proper work conduct including but not limited to GMP’s, SOP’s, and SSOP’s.
- Carry out product evaluations and determine acceptability.
- Work with Sugarfina Corporate Quality to track and monitor – out of specification product, holds, concessions, etc.
- Perform regular quality audits (AQL’s) to ensure product meets specification.
- Publish results of AQL’s for products at receipt, at fulfillment and at shipment.
- Review and sign off paperwork for accuracy and compliance to all food safety and quality programs.
- Oversee and conduct checks for assembly builds to ensure products are meeting Sugarfina as well as customer standards and guidelines.
- Review monthly goals and continuous improvement projects with corporate Quality Assurance Director.
- Investigate complaints and coordinate with operations leadership for corrective and preventative actions
- Create quality alert reports and follow through with suppliers for appropriate corrective and preventative actions
- Support team in creating and updating product build guides and carrying out random inspections to ensure compliance
- Oversee adherence to product shelf life and rotational requirements by business channel
- Perform periodic internal audits of the facility to monitor that all quality and food safety standards are being upheld.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities and recommending changes within different areas of the company.
- Manage retain samples, perform sensory and carry out shelf-life studies as needed.
- Monitor sanitation procedures and safety compliance.
- Submit non-conformances as needed to respective departments, assist to identify the root cause, and monitor the effectiveness of the agreed corrective actions.
- Perform other duties and as assigned.
Education & Skills:
- Must have solid understanding of GMP and Incoming Receiving checks.
- Must have experience in the Food Industry (i.e. Food or Beverage Manufacturing).
- Ability to assess risk and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
