Experience/Qualifications:
Two or more years of electronic, electro-mechanical, dimensional, and/or calibration,mechanical metrology / experience.
Position Summary:
Performs routine and complex work related to the repair and calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment (IMTE), using calibration standards equipment, authoritative calibration procedures and technical reference manuals, and standard or specialized hand tools. Performs with minimum supervision.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs calibrations, modifications, diagnosis and repairs on various types of test and measurement equipment
- May be required to travel to customer sites to perform field service on equipment.
- Communicates with operational staff and customers to determine their needs in such areas as repairs, alignments, technical assistance and any other areas of concern.
- Develops and validates calibration procedures to ensure a proper accuracy ratio is maintained to effect proper traceability.
- Assists in training junior Service Technicians.
- Maintains an increased technical proficiency and effectiveness through on the job training and self-study.
- Accurately and efficiently completes all necessary documentation and reports, as required.
- Assists operational staff when necessary in maintaining a high level of customer interface and satisfaction.
- Develops calibration procedures and measurement systems for use on customers’ equipment in compliance with Davis Calibration quality management system requirements.
- Assures compliance to Davis Calibration quality management system requirements . Performs quality assurance functions where applicable to ensure calibration reports comply with all pertinent customer requirements.
- Is familiar with Davis Inotek Quality Management System, ISO 17025:2005, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 10012.
- Verifies all Lab Standards and Test Equipment are within its calibration dates or is documented as needing calibration before use.
- Ensures all customer owned equipment is serviced and returned within the turn around time promised to the customer.
- Coordinates with Operational staff on any problems encountered during calibration.
- Provides operations with the status on customer equipment, Lab personnel and all problems situations that arise.
- Performs other Lab support functions as required for the efficient and orderly operation of the facility.
- Uses standard hand tools, measurement and test equipment, computers and computer peripherals, material handling devices and other common office and electronic test equipment.
