Job Title: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that building systems (including HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems) are designed, installed, and functionally tested to meet the operational requirements and project specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of building systems commissioning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction teams to integrate commissioning activities into project schedules and ensure timely completion.
- Design Review: Evaluate mechanical system designs to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and best practices.
- Installation Oversight: Monitor the installation of mechanical systems to verify adherence to design documents and manufacturer guidelines.
- Functional Testing: Develop and execute detailed commissioning plans, including pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and system validation procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to mechanical system performance and integration during the commissioning process.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports, including test results, deficiencies, corrective actions, and recommendations for system optimization.
- Training: Provide training and support to building operators and maintenance staff on system operations and maintenance procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all mechanical systems meet quality standards and perform as intended to support the building's operational needs.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and environmental standards throughout the commissioning process.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance commissioning processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical commissioning, preferably with a focus on building systems.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), or similar credentials are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using commissioning software and tools, and familiarity with building automation systems (BAS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
