Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team, playing a crucial role in standardizing our company's remote and core sites. This position involves designing, maintaining, and supporting a growing network infrastructure. You'll be part of a dedicated network infrastructure team responsible for developing scalable, highly-available network architectures.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You should have in-depth, hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, switches, virtualization, cloud technologies, and security frameworks, with a focus on LANs and WANs. This role requires travel within the US and occasionally to Canadian sites, varying based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, highly-available network architectures.
- Maintain and support network infrastructure across remote and core sites.
- Lead infrastructure projects including cloud, network, and storage implementations.
- Configure and manage software and hardware related to LANs and WANs.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to execute project and operational responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS/BA degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Certifications:
- Cisco CCNA required; CCNP preferred.
- Fortinet NSE 4 preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certified.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT network infrastructure within a large-scale enterprise.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network administration.
- Experience supporting remote office environments.
- Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in network routing and switching, Cisco ASA, FTD, FMC, IPS/IDS.
- Experience with wireless controller configurations and AP deployment best practices.
- Working knowledge of DMVPN with zone-based firewall deployments.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN architectures.
- Strong understanding of IPv4 TCP/IP subnetting; understanding of IPv6 a plus.
- Experience with dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and route redistribution.
- Cloud computing experience (AWS, GCP, OCI) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of network management tools like Solarwinds Suite and Nagios.
- Experience with Control Network (SCADA) systems.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Strong understanding of risk management and audit processes.
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
- Proficiency in using diagramming tools for network architecture documentation.
