SUMMARY
The Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations provides strategic management related to the development, execution, support and evaluation of CHIN’s Information technology (IT) systems and operations. Works with senior leadership and all sectors to help them effectively utilize the applications of technology within their areas of responsibility. The Director is a hands-on technical resource and thought leader to the IT team and key partners throughout the business. The Director focuses on innovation and implementation of industry leading technology practices that will aid CHIN in supporting its clients with the highest quality services and the infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for defining and executing the infrastructure and operations strategy, policies, and standards to support the business goals and mitigate risk.
Monitors accessibility of applications or services to ensure infrastructure is scalable and flexible to adapt to changing business needs and technological advancements.
Implements a ticketing system for technology related needs and develops protocols to ensure tickets are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Oversees the IT technical staff and helps manage the resources to ensure the delivery of high- quality services, solutions and projects.
Implements practices that focus on customer service excellence to all stakeholders (internal and external).
Maintains collegial relationships with all CHIN team members providing a supportive and collaborative environment to exchange ideas.
Develop talent within the department and create ways to better service CHIN team members and improve productivity.
Manage the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring systems.
Evaluates processes and develops and IT roadmap strategy to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with CHIN’s needs and standards.
Monitors accessibility of applications or services to ensure infrastructure is scalable and flexible to adapt to changing business needs and technological advancements.
Stays abreast of research on the changing nature of IT and the profession while studying its impact regionally and locally on the AEC industry.
Advises leadership on financial implications through development of an IT budget.
Oversees IT projects through their entire lifecycle to ensure completion is on-time and within budget while providing technical guidance to resolve complex issues.
Evaluate and select vendors and technology partners that provide the best value and support for CHIN.
Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and any issues are promptly addressed.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Operations, or related field
At least 10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure / Operations Management, preferably in the AEC industry
Experience in managing the maintenance and transition of legacy systems to new tools
Strong expertise in networking, cloud computing, virtualization, and other relevant technologies and platforms
At least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong Project Management Skills
