Position Description:
St. John’s is a Pre-K - 8th grade school with a focus on providing a modern education, in part through our 1:1 iPad program for students. In support of this program, the Technology Support & A/V Coordinator
will provide Level 1 technical support of hardware and systems for the entire St. John’s community. Additionally, this individual will support School events by providing both setup and support of technology and audio/video needs, including research and recommendations for improvements. It will require flexibility in his or her schedule and will require periodic support for early morning, after school, and weekend events. his position demands strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, a high level of initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to support the School's mission and educational objectives
Key Accountabilities:
The Technology Support and A/V Coordinator’s responsibilities include:
Technology Support:
- Provide technical support, including timely updates and communication of progress, to users regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems efficiently and effectively.
- Install, configure, and maintain software, computer systems, printers and other hardware.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure seamless operation of technology infrastructure.
- Image, deploy, and manage day-to-day use of school-owned iPads and PCs.
Help Desk and Inventory Lead:
- Manage and prioritize help desk tickets to ensure timely resolution of issues by maintaining as empty a ticket queue as often as possible.
- Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory as well as documentation of communication with consultants and support companies.
- Help coordinate equipment repairs, replacements, and purchases as needed.
- Oversee the deployment and disposal of IT assets according to organizational policies.
- Develop and implement procedures for inventory management and help desk operations.
A/V research and implementation:
- Collaborate with Director of Events and key stakeholders to assess A/V requirements for various projects and events.
- Plan and execute the setup of audiovisual equipment for events.
- Research, test, and recommend upgrades and enhancements to improve A/V quality.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Assist the Technology Department with research and planning for new purchases.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
- Procure necessary resources within budget constraints.
Technology Training:
- Conduct one-on-one or group training sessions as needed.
- Educate users on best practices for technology usage and security measures.
- Develop and contribute to departmental training materials, resources, and knowledgebase.
- Customize training content based on user needs and skill levels.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Conduct technology training for students, faculty, and staff as needed.
- Foster productive partnerships with community members.
- Collaborate with leadership and academic administrators on projects.
- Engage in cooperative project work as directed by the IT Manager.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and iOS platforms; experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Mobile Device Managers (MDM) is preferred.
- Possess a high level of technical aptitude.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of network infrastructures and basic TCP/IP networking.
- Comfortable working with individuals of varying skill levels, including adults and children.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical certifications or experience is required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Primarily works in standard office conditions.
- Capable of occasionally lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs.

- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines and support events outside regular hours, including mornings, evenings, or weekends.
