This Federally Funded Research Center is dedicated to applying cutting-edge technology to national security challenges.
This position will report to the Lab’s End-Point Engineering Team. The goals of this position will be the successful deployment of software update and security controls as needed. The team is in need of a senior application packager for Windows and Macintosh systems to create, deploy and manage software and application updates to Laboratory systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to work across other IT teams to address operational, project and compliance tasks as necessary. In addition to technical skills necessary for completing the work this position will require strong organizational, project management and communication skills to help implement and manage change. An understanding of security controls based on NIST 800-171 will be important and previous experience in working in a security compliance environment is a plus.
The Laboratory maintains a significant population of Microsoft Windows and macOS end-point systems. These enterprise systems are managed by a department which oversees all aspects of the system lifecycle including new system image creation and delivery, systems management including OS patching, third party application patching, security and systems agent management, and advanced troubleshooting.
The ability to utilize software delivery platforms such as BigFix HCL and JAMF to create and deploy software applications and updates is required for this position. Ability to create and report on metrics relative to package distribution is important.
