Are you ready to join Connecticut Innovation’s vibrant community of innovators? Connecticut Innovations (“CI”) is Connecticut’s strategic venture capital arm, and we are passionate about serving our portfolio of 220+ companies across various industries, with strengths in life sciences, technology, and climate tech.
Come join one of our quickly growing portfolio companies, Enrich Biosystems!
About Enrich Biosystems
We are a venture backed, early-stage biotech company developing a unique microfluidics-free cell analysis and isolation technology.
Enrich Biosystems is developing novel high-throughput, microfluidics-free cell discovery technology to address critical gaps in existing technologies. Our technology enables more confident screening, isolation and discovery of cell therapy candidates, quick, easy and robust sample processing for single-cell omics analyses, and flexible cell line purification workflows. The Enrich team is building one powerhouse to accelerate all future cell discoveries!
Embedded Software Engineer
We are looking for a software engineer with strong experience developing code for embedded microcontroller systems and user-facing control & data analysis code for a Windows platform.
Enrich Biosystems has recently created a bench-top laboratory instrument that allows for comprehensive studies of cell interactions over both short and long periods, as well as clone isolation based on the desired cell behaviors. The need for our work is essential and broad, including cancer, immunology, and stem cells, in activities ranging from pure life science research to drug development and clinical therapies.
Our instrument is currently undergoing thorough testing and validation with our external collaborators. In the engineering department, we are actively working on transitioning the design to manufacturing and integrating the features requested by our collaborators.
What You’ll Do:
- Own architecture, coding, and validation of both the embedded and desktop code as an individual contributor.
- Develop image processing tools to embed in our application using OpenCV libraries of image processing tools and cloud-based tools.
- Assist with building the product up to market standard with development and testing best practices.
Requirements:
- Previous working experience as a developer in a commercial organization.
- Significant experience in embedded systems programming using Python is required; C++ knowledge is a plus.
Our instrument contains precision electromechanical motion systems, laser illumination, a high-resolution camera, and environmental control
- Previous experience with UX Coding using QT and database interface
The desktop application includes instrument control/user interface and image analysis.
Why Join the Enrich Biosystems Team?
- We are funded by Connecticut Innovations, Elm Street Ventures, and other institutional VCs, along with many highly respected angels.
- Our product is targeting the addressable market opportunities of global T-cell therapy, cell line development, and single-cell multi-omics for aggregated $42B by 2027.
- In 2023, we joined the National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center for Cell Manufacturing Technologies (CMaT). CMaT is a consortium of universities, companies, and clinical collaborators brought together to develop transformative tools and technologies for the consistent, scalable, and low-cost production of high-quality living therapeutic cells.
- In 2022, we were awarded an NCI research contract to accelerate the development of advanced sample processing platforms for downstream scMulti-omics.
- We were selected to join the MassChallenge US Early-Stage accelerator program and the inaugural BioTools Innovator accelerator program.
- In 2020 and 2021, we were awarded multiple National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants for further development of our single cell isolation platform.
This role may be a fit for you if:
- You thrive in lean environments working with highly intelligent, caring individuals who are masters of their craft.
- You would love the opportunity to build novel technology and interact with customers in early stages to refine and define its potential.
- You’re flexible and can pivot when priorities shift.
- You’re looking to start as an individual contributor but would be interested in an opportunity to lead others as the company grows.
- You’re mission driven and want to be a part of a small but productive team and help a promising technology become an important tool in fighting cancer and immunological disease.
