Role: Lead Google Cloud Platform Developer/ Cloud Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC/ Hybrid
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions that leverage the full capabilities of Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with our development, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud infrastructure, optimize performance, and enhance our cloud architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Architecture: Develop and implement cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform that meet the business and technical requirements. This includes designing cloud architecture, selecting appropriate Google Cloud Platform services, and ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Deployment and Management: Deploy, manage, and optimize Google Cloud Platform resources, including virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking components. Implement best practices for monitoring, security, and cost management.
- Automation and Scripting: Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or equivalent. Develop scripts for automation of routine tasks.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that all cloud solutions adhere to company security policies and industry best practices. Implement Google Cloud Platform security features such as IAM roles, VPC configurations, and encryption mechanisms.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, data engineers, and DevOps to integrate cloud solutions into the overall IT ecosystem. Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor cloud performance and make adjustments to optimize system performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Implement scaling strategies to handle increasing workloads.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and services. Provide timely support and implement solutions to prevent recurrence of problems.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and processes. Create user guides and runbooks to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
- Certification: Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent Google Cloud Platform certification is required.
