The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of quality assurance and quality control programs of the plant. This includes compliance with health & safety regulations, audits, quality assurance oversight, customer satisfaction, relationships with other areas, vendors and laboratory.

- Responsibilities:Oversee team of Quality Coordinators, Quality Technicians and Lab personnel
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
- Maintain all quality programs and ensure they are kept up to date
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality management system, leveraging data and feedback to enhance processes and product quality
- Document standard work instructions for routine and repetitive tasks and provide to team members responsible for completing the tasks
- Conduct training for new hires and staff
- Validate product quality through instrumentation testing & physical testing of materials, in process material and finished goods
- Maintain and evaluate operation of all laboratory equipment and spare parts inventories
- Work with all levels of management to achieve and maintain SQF certification
- Maintain a thorough understanding of each production process and products, including components and functions
- Assist in all necessary third-party audits and ensure that corrective action lists are communicated to the appropriate departments for review
- Complete all customer questionnaires, assist with customer audits and provide corrective actions
- Communicate with customers on complaints about products and work with other departments to form corrective action plans to prevent further occurrences
- Ensure appropriate budgetary / spending controls are in place and being applied
- Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- 3+ years of quality management/supervisory background
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of GMP and SQF audits
- Strong customer interaction skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
