We are seeking a skilled Security Engineer on a part time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, risk management, and network security. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our systems and data from cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and anti-virus solutions.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the protection of company assets.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and breaches, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of the business.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats to proactively address potential vulnerabilities.
- Provide security training and awareness programs for employees.
- Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and technologies.
- Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and anti-virus software.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
