Engineer, IT Enterprise Operations
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Engineer, IT Enterprise Operations will be part of an industry leading IT team working in a fast-paced environment at PDS Health. Under the guidance of the Mgr, IT Enterprise Operations, this individual will be responsible for day-to-day tasks functioning primarily as mid to upper tier support through all phases of the project and hardware lifecycle. The Engineer, IT Enterprise Operations is also responsible for the overall health of the Infrastructure Services which includes Server, Storage (SAN/NAS), VMware, and associated mission critical systems with specific emphasis on ensuring efficient, reliable application and system services delivery to all constituents in the organization. The incumbent will be required to: install equipment, maintain server hardware and software, investigate incidents, analyze problems, document processes and monitor networks to ensure their availability to users. Occasional travel to the datacenter and other company locations.

- Participate in architecture reviews with IT groups, ensure supportability requirements and standards are followed.
- Develop new standards to maintain or improve stability and scalability of the current systems environment with specific considerations to sustainability and future-proof design.
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for systems and system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage existing resources and provide economies of scale.
- Daily Storage (SAN/NAS) infrastructure support, engineering and administration in multi-vendor environment including HPE, Dell, and Qumulo.
- Daily Server infrastructure support, engineering and administration in multi-vendor environment including VMWare, Dell, and HPE platforms.
- Collaborate with members of the IT Infrastructure team and other internal teams to resolve issues related to storage and storage access as well as servers and server access.
- Author documents that improve governance and librarianship with system-related architectures.
- Skilled in determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
- Daily maintenance and administration of various systems and infrastructures in both production and development environments. Resolve or report critical issues to the Mgr, IT Enterprise Operations for resolution.
- Provide intermediate and advanced tier support for troubleshooting various applications and systems. Support all infrastructure hardware.
- Install new and configure existing hardware in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
- Contribute to and maintain system standards.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of system related scheduled jobs.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
- General support of production systems as required.
- Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities according to defined policies and standards.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Ability to mentor junior network administrators and engineers in all aspects of systems design, operations, deployment, documentation and standards.

- REQUIRED:Bachelor (4-year) degree with a technical major such as engineering or computer science (or equivalent education and applicable work experience). In lieu of degree, +2 years of professional experience is required.
- 5+ years of experience working with virtualization technology and provisioning/de-provisioning underlying storage.
- 5+ years of Windows system administration in a multi-site domain. Experience managing Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and load-balanced configurations.
- Advanced experience with Storage systems
- Advanced experience with HPE Server Hardware
- Advanced experience with Hypervisors like VMWare, HyperV, Nutanix, or Scale
- Advanced experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter.
- Advanced experience with MS Windows 2019 and Windows 2022.
- Advanced knowledge of OSI Model, IP addressing, subnetting, VLAN, routing
- Advanced experience with network functions such as DHCP, DNS, AD, WINS and how to design and administer solutions as well as troubleshoot problems as they relate to the system operations.
- Advanced experience with monitoring systems and analysis of performance data and tuning based on this data.
- Advanced experience with Backup Technologies like Veeam.
- Strong skills in communication, both written and verbal

- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed (For change control(s) and or on an occasional emergency).
- PREFERRED:MCSE certification in MS Windows 2019 or Windows 2022 technologies
- Working knowledge of Linux commands, SSH, and SCP.
- Experience with SSL certs.
- Experience with HPE Alletra and Qumulo storage.
- Experience with HPE and Nutanix Server and Hyperconverged hardware.
- Knowledge of different RAID types and proper applications of each type.
- Advanced knowledge of disk size formatting, cluster sizing, and appropriate applications.
- Intermediate knowledge of VMFS, RDMS, and Quorum file systems.
- Advanced knowledge of SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, CIFS, NFS, etc.).
