Position Overview
The Technical Service Engineer (TSE) assists the commercial and technical teams in providing engineering assistance to our customers to incorporate liquid colorants and additives within their plastic manufacturing processes. The TSE will recommend solutions to problems, educate plant personnel in the use of liquid colorant/additives systems, and work as direct contact for technical support for plant floor engineers and material handlers. The TSE will observe/monitor customer plant floor activity, with an emphasis on trouble shooting and problem resolution. Cooperate with the Technical Team in the preparation and during trials at customers’ premises.
Key Accountabilities
Customer Interface (75%)
- Technical support of the installation and use of REPI equipment. Coordinate with REPI equipment department to expedite shipments of test equipment to target customers for trial purposes.
- Attend liquid systems trials involving dosing equipment setup, calibration and interface with customer equipment, as needed.
- Optimize the process setup on the customer machines to achieve the best performance of REPI liquid products.
- Confer with customers’ engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
- Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production.
Internal Responsibilities (25%)
- Advise Technical Team of REPI with needs on additives and colorants improvement and development of new products.
- Collaborate with Sales and Technical teams to understand customer requirements.
Cooperate in the development and improvement of the main components of the dosing units (valves, pumps, motors).
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or other related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Has in-depth scientific understanding of manufacturing processes in plastic manufacturing and crosslinked polyurethane manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with customers building trusting relationship and strives customer confidence in Repi service.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in plastics and polymer manufacturing environment with in-depth understanding of machinery and equipment used in industrial production, such as injecting molding, blow molding, recycling machinery, and or polyurethane manufacturing machinery.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Updated valid passport is needed
- This position is required to travel up to 75% of the time in North America and Internationally as required by Management.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move (including pulling, pushing, and exerting pressure) up to 55 pounds and occasionally move up to 250 pounds using pallet jack
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision.
