Aegis has partnered with a manufacturing firm in the Lafayette, IN area who is looking to add a Supplier Quality Engineer to their team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of supplier facilities to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Evaluate supplier quality management systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement quality assurance plans for new and existing suppliers.
- Work closely with suppliers to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues.
- Utilize problem-solving tools (e.g., root cause analysis, 8D reports) to address and rectify non-conformance issues.
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to improve their quality performance and manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance using key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, on-time delivery).
- Analyze data and trends to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all supplier quality documentation, including quality agreements and certifications, is accurate and up-to-date.
- Maintain and manage records related to supplier quality issues, audits, and corrective actions.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Engineering, Production, Purchasing) to ensure alignment on quality requirements and expectations.
- Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and implement improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or a related field) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, with a focus on supplier quality management in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP), as well as experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and hands-on approach to addressing quality issues.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating and documenting supplier performance.
