Automotive Calibration Engineer

We have a position for an experienced MATLAB Simulink software developer and/or calibration engineer to assist with engine performance feature calibration. In this role, the engineer will interact with engine test cells, prototype vehicles and test benches to troubleshoot issues and calibrate features.
What you will be doing:
- Featured based machine and performance feature calibration for datalinks.
- Working on diesel and EV automotive platforms
- Diagnostic related troubleshooting to support OBD.
- Documented results from Manual Test Procedures for datalink communication.
- Root cause analysis for On-highway features.
- Supporting cross-functional teams to address On-highway related issues as necessary
- Support weekly calibration integration meetings, field test data meetings, and other controls specific issue meetings
- Troubleshoot field issues and validate CRs on bench or field test trucks and report results
- Feature Validation to support on highway products.
- Complete 3 step OBD work for diagnostics development.
- Work on both an internal software configuration environment and an AUTOSAR environment.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the following areas:
- Electronics OR controls background
- MATLAB Simulink and Simulink simulation
- Experience with performance features such as governors
- Calibration
- Excel data analysis
- Engineering tools (Calterm, Canape, PCAN, Canalyzer)
- Datalinks-CAN 1939
- Good communicator - written and verbal

What you’ll need to be successful:
- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
- Experience with MATLAB Simulink required (need to be able to read Simulink models)
- Fundamental understanding of the internal combustion engines and aftertreatment systems is preferred.
- On the job engine testing, vehicle, or test cell experience with familiarity of data acquisition and instrumentation is preferred.
- Experience in communicating and presenting technical content with external customers is preferred.
- Experience with different data processing tools for complex or large data sets (Matlab, concerto, excel, or similar) is preferred.
- Good understanding & experience with Datalink protocols such as J1939 and CANC communication networks is preferred.
- Ability to collect and analyze CAN Trace files is preferred.
- Working knowledge of CANalyzer or any similar data acquisition tools (Calterm, etc,.) is preferred.
- Awareness and knowledge of Cummins internal tools such as C2ST, Integrity, Windchill will be a plus for this role
- Works well with customers and coordinates with internal teams will be required.
- EV experience is NOT required but will be learned in this role.
