Production Manager:
The responsibilities include, but not limited to: (see responsibility chart)
Pre Production & Inventory Distribution:
Create & maintain an annual pre production and production calendar to assure that all line openings are on time and all production is delivered on time.
- Work closely with Design, Fabric purchasing, Merchandising, Customer Service and Finance so that there is clear communication and essential knowledge is available to all.
- Place all Fabric PO”s and keep the Fabric tracking chart up to date. Make sure all fabric is delivered on time and that all parties are informed of fabric delays.
- Keep track of fabric utilization, yields (Style/Yield chart) and Fabric Oh Hand
- Make sure Fabric On Hand and production reports are timely and correct
- Do seasonal sales analysis for all Essential Fabrics to determine how much fabric should be bought
- Develop with CEO and keep track of the Buy Plan for each Season.
- Prepare analysis for determining how much to cut in total and by size.
- Manage the seasonal patternmaking and production schedules and distribute to merchandising, production and the CEO
- Oversee and submit patterns for grading and marking.
- Make sure that all special samples for photo shoots, special production for clients are done on time.
- Determine where all production will be sent, i.e. to the stores or travel lines or warehouse.( by size, color, style)
- Assort travel lines so that all styles, colors and sizes are represented
Production:
- Create & maintain an annual pre-production and production calendar to assure that all line openings are on time and all production is delivered on time.
- Keep track of the Buy Plan for each Season.
- Inspect and review all fabric prior to cutting including doing shrinkage and skewing, and pilling or any other relevant tests.
- Source new factories and cutting rooms and review current factories to assure that the company has adequate production capacity
- Enter WIP into the system and then when production is delivered, make sure it is received into the proper location.
- Negotiate all production costs and create cost sheets with recommended retail prices.
- Work closely with Design, Fabric purchasing, Merchandising, Customer Service and Finance so that there is clear communication and essential knowledge is available to all.
- Create & Maintain Quality Control systems, records and reports
- Accountable for overall quality of the product.
- Prepare list before production of all special points to watch for and train factories.
- Schedule garments into the best factory and determine factory loading
- Visit domestic contractors to ensure quality standards are upheld and delivery schedules are met
- Investigate and address quality issues in a timely manner. Manage customer complaints and investigate root causes
- Sourcing in Asia for knitwear and or other categories.
Management:
- Hire, train and build a strong staff in production while staying within budget.
- Expert use of Excel for production reports and our Aria operating system
- Communicate with and oversee relationship with warehouse.
Requirements:
- Must know how to spec a garment.
- Have experience with tailored suiting and knowledge of tech design for tailored suiting.
- Understand pattern making; experience giving direction to pattern makers on making corrections.
- Quality Control with factories.
Salary is 150K - 175K
