A Senior Hardware Quality Assurance Sustaining Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and sustainability of hardware products. Here are their key responsibilities:
- Validate server performance against specifications such as ADR (Architectural Design Requirements), MRD (Market Requirements Document), and SOW (Statement of Work).
- Conduct stress and margining tests to verify features and performance.
- Define and execute test strategies for server components, including disk drives, cards, processors, and memory.
- Component Release and Documentation:
- Release and document components for new and existing designs.
- Manage product introduction and changes using PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools like ECO (Engineering Change Order), PNR (Part Number Release), and PCN (Product Change Notification).
- Prototype Evaluation and Failure Analysis:
- Validate and document prototype platforms for early evaluations and regulatory tests.
- Perform level 3 failure analysis on field returns and yield issues, collaborating with suppliers.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production personnel.
- Coordinate and review test strategies with a team of engineers.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments.
- Knowledge of standardized server test software and electrical system debugging.
